AIR QUALITY/GHG CONSULTANT
Illingworth & Rodkin, Inc. is seeking to fill an Air Quality/GHG Consultant position. This person would be responsible for project work as it occurs in a large range of topics covering land use issues associated with new housing, commercial, institutional and industrial development projects along with Specific Plans and General Plans. Our air quality experts conduct emissions and dispersion modeling and prepare health risk assessments. We also specialize in transportation projects including highways, local roadways, and transit. This is a unique opportunity to join a group of highly qualified scientists and engineers working on technically challenging and important projects located primarily in California and the western states.
Minimum requirements are a B.S. degree in a scientific field (e.g., meteorology), minimum 2 years current professional experience in air quality dispersion and emissions estimation models, air quality regulatory and policy framework, and CEQA/NEPA air quality studies, including data analysis, evaluation, and report preparation. Demonstrated excellent technical writing skills and proficiency with technical and office software applications is key. Interest in other related areas including meteorology, geography and atmospheric boundary layer processes would be beneficial.
ACOUSTICAL CONSULTANT
Illingworth & Rodkin is seeking to fill an Acoustical position, at our Corporate office, located in Cotati, CA (Working remotely is not an option). This person should have a BS or BA engineering/science degree and excellent writing, analytical and computer skills with desired 2 years current professional experience or more. Course work or special projects in acoustics and noise control and work experience with CEQA is highly desirable. Typical assignments include noise and vibration studies for major transportation projects, power plant acoustics, residential projects, commercial projects, and architectural acoustics projects, as well as assisting in larger research projects. This position offers a range of “hands-on” experience from doing field work and instrumentation development to completing analysis and report writing. Our laboratory equipment ranges from conventional sound level meters and vibration equipment to state-of-art multi-channel analyzers while analysis capabilities include SoundPlan, TNM, and MatLab. Familiarity with any of these is a definite asset. Demonstrated excellent technical writing skills and proficiency with technical and office software applications is key.
